My aim is to help people deepen their understanding of themselves and others, thrive, despite difficult circumstances, and unlock their creative potential.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, based in Oakland, CA. I provide psychodynamic psychotherapy to individual adults, children (3+), and teens.
I hope that this site can be helpful as you decide whether working with me will be the right thing, right now, for you.
What’s it like to work with you?
People I’ve worked with have shared that I provide a warm and non-judgemental space for them to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
If we work together, you’ll quickly see that I’m interested in learning about your dreams, imagination, creativity, life experiences, and relationships.
What services do you offer?
I offer weekly psychotherapy or play therapy sessions that are 50-minutes long and can be attended in-person or remotely.
What informs your approach?
My approach to therapy is informed by my training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, Jungian-oriented therapy, Jungian Sandplay therapy, and non-directive play therapy.
How can I get started?
We can begin by scheduling a 20-minute free consultation. I’ll share a little about how I work, ask you a few questions, and see if it feels like a good time to schedule the first appointment.
What's your background and experience?
I am an adjunct professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.
I currently see children, adolescents, and adults in my private practice in Oakland, CA.
Previously, I’ve been the in-school therapist at John Muir Elementary School, SFUSD | Hillcrest Elementary School, SFUSD | Ocean View Elementary School, AUSD | Marin Elementary School, AUSD
I completed a two-year postgraduate fellowship at Access Institute for Psychological Services where I was trained in psychoanalytically-oriented psychotherapy.
I have a masters in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA.
I spent 8+ years working in public relations, marketing, and public affairs in the technology and healthcare industry in San Francisco.
I was a crisis counselor for The Trevor Project and a research associate for the Child Life and Attention Skills lab at UCSF/UC Berkeley.
For a free 20-minute consultation, send me an email or follow the link below to my calendar.
I offer a free initial consultation. For a 50-minute psychotherapy, my rates start at $200. I also reserve a limited number of hours for clients in need of a sliding scale fee. If these appointments are full, I can provide you with a referral.
I am an out-of-network provider. If your insurer accepts claims from “out-of-network” providers, I can provide you with a “Superbill” that you can submit for partial reimbursement. For more info on Superbills, here is an article from GoodRx Health.
At the start of your work, I will provide you with a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your health care will cost. You can ask any healthcare provider you work with for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. The Good Faith Estimate is not a contract and does not require you to obtain my services. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059
